FAQ

CreditBar publishes 7–61 days and R500–R5,000 on its website. We have not confirmed a comparable day-based range for the other four routes, so they are not presented as short-term matches here.

No. Compare the total amount repayable, fees and exact due dates for the same amount. A short term may produce a larger near-term payment; a longer instalment schedule can carry costs over more months.

What counts as a short-term option here

This category shows the advertiser for which we confirmed a repayment range expressed in days: CreditBar. Its official FAQ gives a maximum of R5,000 and a term of 7–61 days; its main site says the starting amount is R500. Other advertisers appear in all online loans because we have not confirmed a comparable day-based range for them. This is a limited category, not a full survey of South African credit.

Check the date and full amount

A short term can mean a larger single repayment sooner than a monthly-instalment product. Before applying, write down the amount you will receive, the exact due date and the total amount you must return, including interest and fees. If your income date could shift, ask the provider how late payments are handled and whether any extra charges apply.

Compare a different repayment pattern

FASTA publishes up to six monthly instalments for its product, which differs from CreditBar's day-based term. Neither is automatically cheaper: the answer depends on the current quotation, the amount borrowed and the repayment schedule. Read our short-term versus instalment guide before selecting a route.
