A bank loan and a digital loan app can solve different borrowing needs. The useful question is which documented offer fits your amount, repayment date and ability to pay. Start with a bank loan profile or the loan apps category, then verify details with the provider.
Compare total repayment, not only speed
Write down the amount disbursed, all interest and fees, the payment schedule and the total due. For a short loan, a small-looking fee can still be material. If one offer lasts a month and another is repaid in instalments, compare them on a consistent period and understand what late payment costs.
Eligibility can differ
Equity's Eazzy Loan page describes account and activity requirements. KCB and NCBA also publish mobile products. An app provider may use a different assessment. Neither channel guarantees approval, and only the provider can give your final terms.
Check the actual lender
For a bank, use the Central Bank of Kenya bank directory. For a digital credit provider, use the CBK digital credit directory. Match the legal entity and official site, then read the lender's costs and privacy terms before sharing data.
Questions borrowers ask
Are bank loans always cheaper?
No universal answer follows from the channel. Compare current written offers, including all fees and the time you will carry the debt.
Can I apply without visiting a branch?
Some banks provide digital loan channels. Check the bank's own product page for eligibility and application steps.
