How to verify an online loan provider in Sri Lanka
A familiar brand name, a sponsored result or a place on a comparison page does not tell you who will lend the money. Before sharing your NIC or bank details, identify the business receiving your application and the lender named in the proposed agreement.
Finpanda may show partner offers on this page. Check the provider named at the final destination; no listing guarantees approval or a lower cost.
Loans
Partner listings are not a verified ranking. Some buttons lead to an alternative provider. Confirm the actual lender, fees and total repayment before applying; an empty field is not a zero charge.
Check the actual provider and its written quotation for the amount, term, rate basis, fees, eligibility and total repayment. Missing comparison data does not mean zero cost, no credit check or guaranteed approval.

Read the provider’s legal name, contact information, website and privacy notice. If a comparison service sends you to another company, repeat the check at the final destination. A company-registration number is not the same thing as a Central Bank lending licence.
If the provider claims to be licensed or supervised by the Central Bank of Sri Lanka, check the exact legal name and category in the CBSL authorised-institutions directory. The directory lists specific categories such as banks, finance companies and licensed microfinance institutions. An absence from one list does not, by itself, settle every legal question about a digital lender; do not infer a licence from marketing language either.
Check the offer before the application becomes a debt
Ask for the amount that will reach your account, the full repayment schedule in LKR, all compulsory service or processing charges, late-payment terms and the total to repay. Compare offers using the same amount and term. Read the actual agreement rather than applying another provider’s headline rate. Our loan interest and fees guide provides a comparison checklist.
Protect your information and know the complaint path
The CBSL warning on online financial fraud recommends checking the lending party and financial transaction before agreeing. Use the provider’s verified contact details and privacy notice. Do not disclose banking passwords or one-time passcodes to an agent. Keep copies of the offer, agreement, payment receipts and correspondence.
For a provider regulated by CBSL, the financial consumer protection framework covers fair treatment, disclosure and complaints. Check the provider’s own complaint process first and use the regulator’s published route when it applies. Do not assume that every online provider falls under the same regulatory regime.
Use comparison pages as a starting point
Finpanda’s Sri Lanka provider directory and fast-loan comparison can help you find profile and destination information. Some profile buttons lead to a clearly labelled alternative provider. Check the final destination and its own terms before you apply. Listing order is not a promise of the best rate or approval.
Provider requirements and costs can change. Read the current application and written offer before accepting credit. Finpanda may earn from partner links; a listing or commission does not establish suitability or regulatory status.
